The Virtual Piano Pedagogueonline video master courses
The Virtual Piano Pedagogue is a series of video master courses presented by Claire Wachter. The series is designed for all those who wish to learn more about the great music composed for the piano.
For example, if you wish to learn about phrasing, click on The Art of the Phrase videos. In The Essence of Chopin series choose The Principles of Chopin's Pianism video to learn about the Fantasie-Impromptu or select The Psychology of Chopin Performance to find out the real story of Chopin's "Raindrop Prelude." For a great Spanish adventure with beautiful water fountains, a bullfight and brilliant fireworks, watch The Genius of Domenico Scarlatti series.
You will find that the videos are between three to sixteen minutes in length and the total time for each topic area is about an hour. Each topic begins with an introduction and concludes with a summary. Although the videos are most effective when viewed in sequence within the topic area you can also view the individual youtubes in any order.
For a complete list of repertoire in each youtube and topic area, simply open the video.
There are many interesting ways to use these videos. During piano lessons, watch the youtube that features the piece the student is studying. You can show the youtubes in classes, presentations and at conferences. Of course, you can always curl up with your device of choice, enjoy a cup of coffee and learn all about phrasing or some of your favorite Chopin and Scarlatti pieces.
